Episode 27 - December Draw Down Week 4
Thursday Dec 31, 2020
Thursday Dec 31, 2020
This week we all worked on a full page of a comic script. There are books and resources for comic book writers to find comic book scripts, but they were offline or checked out at the library, so Keegan wrote an original script for everyone to work on. This week we were once again joined by Chloe and Andyboowandy (@BirdsofSadness on Instagram). Follow Andyboowandy for inspiration and hilariously unique comics!

Episode 26 - December Draw Down Week 3!
Wednesday Dec 23, 2020
Wednesday Dec 23, 2020
Welcome to the 3rd episode of our 4-Part Series called "The December Draw Down"! The DDD was created as a way to focus more on comic book "art" because we have spent so much time talking about writing, editing, marketing...etc. We also wanted to attempt comic book art, because comic artists (sarcastically I'm sure) are often suggesting comic book writers who can't pay learn how to draw! "What an interesting suggestion..." we said, and then this competition was born. This week we tried drawing One-Point Perspective using the guide by Joe Catapano on How To Draw Comics.Net http://howtodrawcomics.net/one-point-perspective.We followed the step-by-step guide to try and recreate the city street. We have started streaming episodes live on Twitch (Fridays at 9EST PM) and you can see our work on our Instagram page, YouTube or Twitch page. But the audio totally works too if you feel like picturing some weird art in your head! Also, if you're interested in drawing comics, we suggest you check out howtodrawcomics.net - - the guide is actually really great and had information you can't really find in books easily!
Thanks for listening! Thanks to our special guests Chloe M (Eric's niece) and AndyBooWandy (@BirdsofSadness on Instagram).

Chris talks about how he started Global Comix, how it is helping indie comic creators and a little bit about the pricing model (a very sensible price for comic lovers). Then Eric, Keegan, Chloe and Andyboowandy "compete" in the December Draw Down week 2! This week we drew full character profiles.

Thursday Dec 10, 2020
This episode brings the first week of our December Draw Down in which the Dumb Comic Creators learn how to draw comics (or attempt to) and compete for the best drawings with Eric's talented niece and other friends along the way (although in this episode, just Chloe).
This week we tried drawing comic book faces from the pages of Stan Lee's How To Draw Comics. We wanted to start with the master.
If you want to SEE instead of listen to this episode (which makes total sense) please visit our YouTube Chanel!
We'll be streaming every Friday in December (Christmas Day is a maybe) this month on Twitch https://www.twitch.tv/dumbcomiccreators 9pm EST!

INTRODUCTION: December Draw Down Challenge!
Wednesday Dec 02, 2020
Wednesday Dec 02, 2020
This month Eric, Keegan, and Chloe (Eric's niece) are doing the December Draw Down Challenge! Using the power of books about "how to draw comic books" they will compete to see who can do the best Character Faces, Character profiles, Perspective and finally a full comic page. Eric and Keegan are awful and terrible at drawing and feel that this is a golden opportunity to solidify that fact. Chloe is a budding illustrator and comic artist who is up to the challenge but has never drawn full comic characters or pages as described in this challenge. We know we may fail, but that's the fun!
We welcome all of our listeners and subscribers to join in! We'll even invite you on the podcast to talk about your experience, or just share your "work" on our social media pages. Plus, these episodes will be streamed LIVE ON TWITCH. (follow us on Instagram @dumbcomiccreators) for more information.
